|b The general elections in Egypt have witnessed the Islamist parties’ winning of the majority of seats in both the upper and lower houses of the parliament. The change is considered a coup in the politics of Egypt and puts the state on the track of sociopolitical development. It is important to remember that the elections in this Arab republic remain the most accurate indicator of the public will. The present paper aims to explore these elections, their impact on internal and external affairs, especially in terms of managing the state, inter-partisan relations and foreign policy. \ The results were highly predictable, mainly with regard to the victory of the Islamists. However, the rise of some movements and the fall of others raised a lot of questions. Experts have stopped long to analyze the reasons, indications and impact of the new phenomena on the political scene in light of internal and external pressures exerted on the parliament.
