يتناول هذا البحث الأدوار المهمة التي يمكن أن تلعبها المعلوماتية في الحفاظ على الهوية اللغوية العربية؛ وذلك لأن عمليات الحوسبة، ومعالجة البيانات، وتفعيلها، أو تحويلها، لا يمكن أن تكتمل دون التأثير في اللغة. وقد أدى ازدهار علوم الحاسبات إلى تطوير فرع مهم من فروع اللسانيات المعاصرة أطلق عليه اللسانيات الحاسوبية Computational Linguistics وبذلك أصبح الهم الشاغل لنخبة من اللسانيين المعاصرين في الدول المتقدمة تسخير البرامج الحاسوبية لخدمة اللغة القومية. لكن الجهود العربية في هذا المجال لا تتناسب مع مكانة اللغة العربية وما لها من دور في توحيد الأمة. وإذا كانت (غلبة اللغة بغلبة أهلها) فإن هذه الغلبة لا يمكن أن تتحقق في عصرنا الحاضر، إلا من خلال المعلوماتية، التي تعد ميداناً فسيحاً يمكن تسخيره لخدمة اللغة؛ لأنها وسيلة التواصل الأصلية التي لا يمكن أن تغني عنها وسائل الاتصال الأخرى. وينطلق هذا البحث من مبدأ أن صناعة المعلومات تعد أحد المؤشرات التي يقاس بها تقدم الأمة، وقدرتها على الحفاظ على هويتها اللغوية، لذا يصبح نشر المعلومات وتنظيمها وإخراجها باللغة العربية واجباً على العلماء والمثقفين كافة؛ لأن العالم يشهد تحولاً كبيراً في مجال صناعة المعلومات وتطويرها. يخلص هذا البحث إلى أن المعلومات ستكون ميداناً واسعاً للصراع بين اللغات الحية، وهي في الوقت نفسه ستكون جسر التواصل بين اللغات الإنسانية الذي يفتح الأبواب لجميع الأمم نحو التخطيط اللغوي السليم.
This research discusses the important roles that informatics can play in preserving the Arabic Linguistic identity. This is so, because the informatics operations entail in the computational techniques, the processing of data, its formulation and transfer, cannot be fully undertaken without affecting the language. The development in Computer Sciences led to the creation and evolution of an important branch of linguistics, now commonly referred to as Computational Linguistics, and hence a number of contemporary linguistics in the developed countries now employ the Computer Programs to serve the human language. However, it is unfortunate that parallel Arab endeavours in this field are not commensurate with status of the Arabic Language and its role as a unifying agent for the Arabs as a nation. Yet, if "the supremacy of a nation resides in the prominence of its language" then it is imperative that this has to be sought within contemporary informatics as a wide outlet for servicing the language and as a basic communication tool inimitable by other tools. This research acknowledges the paradigm that informatics industry is now an indicator of progress of a nation and its ability to preserve the identity of its native language. Therefore, it becomes imperative on Arab scientists and intellectuals to formulate, organize and disseminate information in Arabic, because the whole world is now practicing an immense transformation in informatics. This research concludes that informatics will be a wide arena for conflicts between vivid languages, though simultaneously it will undoubtedly be a new bridge between them, thus enabling nations at large to plan for language development systematically.
