إن إستراتيجية التعليم العالي في البلدان المتقدمة تقوم على ضرورة أن تكون لمؤسسات التعليم العالي دور فاعل في عملية تنمية المجتمع المحلي من خلال تنمية الموارد البشرية تقوم على فلسفة التعليم والتأهيل وربطها بمستوى ونمط المهارات الذي يتلقاه الطالب بما يتلاءم مع الاحتياجات المتغيرة لسوق العمل ونمط اقتصاد السوق وتسخيرها في تنمية المجتمع المحلي. ويعتبر التعليم العالي الركيزة الأساسية للتنمية الشاملة بصفة عامة، والتنمية البشرية بصفة خاصة، ويحظى التعليم العالي في الأردن بأهمية بالغة، تنبع من الدور الذي يلعبه قطاع التعليم العالي في عملية التنمية بمفهومها الشامل في قطاعات الصناعة، والتجارة ،والأعمال الزراعية، والصحة، وغيرها من الخدمات الإنسانية والاجتماعية، كما يسهم التعليم العالي في التنمية الاقتصادية من خلال رفع المستوى التعليمي للعاملين، ومن ثم تحسين إنتاجية قوة العمل الأردنية من خلال العلاقة مع الصناعة، ولذلكـ فإن التعليم العالي الذي تسعى إليه الأردن هو ذلك الذي يساهم في بناء مجتمع المعرفة، وفي دفع عملية التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية بوتائر عالية تمكن الأردن من اللحاق بالدول الناهضة، ومن بناء ثروته الوطنية المعتمدة على المعرفة المعمقة، والعقول المبدعة، والمهنية العالية، والقيادات العملية والفكرية، والثقافية التي تقود عملية التغيير والتقدم، وعليه ستحاول هذه الدراسة إلقاء الضوء على واقع التعليم العالي في الأردن ومدى اتساقه مع متطلبات التنمية وحاجات سوق العمل.
The higher education strategy in the developed nations stress that the higher education institutions must have an effective role in the development of the local community through the development of human resources that is based on the philosophy of education and qualification ,and connecting that with the level and the pattern of skills that the students receive that is consistent with the changing needs of the labor market and the pattern of the market economy and its utilization in the development of the local community. The higher education is considered the fundamental cornerstone for the comprehensive development generally, and the human development in particular ,the higher education in Jordan enjoys great importance ,and that springs from the role that the higher education sector plays in the development process in its total and comprehensive concept in the industry and trade sector, business, agriculture, health and others of human and social services, also the higher education contributes in the economic development through raising the educational levels of employees and thus increasing the productivity of the Jordanian productive force through the relationship with the industry ,so the higher education that Jordan aspires to is that which contributes in building the knowledge society and in pushing the economic and social development with high pace that enable Jordan to join the prosperous nations and to build his national wealth that depend on deep knowledge ,creative minds and high professionalism ,and scientific ,intellectual ,cultural leaderships that lead the process of change and progress ,so this study will try to shed light on the reality of higher education in Jordan and the scope of its consistency with the requirements of development and the needs of the labor market.
