المستخلص: تضمنت هذه الدراسة مقدمة ناقشتْ مشكلة البحث التي تتعلق بالمكان. أن مشكلة المكان وما يحوم في فلكها من معضلات فلسفية تستأثر باهتمام العديد من المفكرين والفلاسفة على امتداد تاريخ الفكر البشري بوجه عام من جهة الفن بما فيه الرسم خصوصاً والمعرفة بشكلها العام. ففي مجال الرسم العربي الإسلامي يكون للمكان خصوصية نابعة من عقيدة الإسلام المتمثلة بالقرآن الكريم والمنهج النبوي الشريف، تجسد ذلك في رسومات يحيى بن محمود الواسطي، من هنا يحدد الباحث مشكلة هذه الدراسة على هيئة تساؤلات هي: 1. كيف عالج الواسطي المكان في أعماله المختلفة؟ 2. ما علاقة المكان بالفراغ في رسومات الواسطي؟ 3. ما الأسلوب الذي استعمله الواسطي في أعماله المرسومة؟ 4. ما المواضيع التي عالجتها تلك الأعمال؟ \
