|b All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the most honorable Messenger, the seal of prophets and the mercy from Allah to His creation, our master and prophet, Muhammad, and on his family, Companions and those who follow him in righteousness until the Day of Judgment This research includes: \ -\ The definition of magic and its most important kinds and whether it has a real effect or is merely an illusion and imagination. \ -\ A clarification of the prohibition of some acts similar to magic i.e. jugglery, divination and fortune-telling, and the prohibition of believing the practitioners. \ -\ A clarification of the ruling of Islamic law concerning magic, learning it, and teaching it to others. The princi¬ple to all these is prohibition and they are considered major sins that must be avoided. \ -\ The ruling for accusing a Muslim magician of disbelief and juristic opinions on the acts that makes him a dis¬believer, may Allah protect us. \ -\ (i)The prescribed punishment for magicians accord¬ing to Islamic law is either death or disciplinary action which serve to deter magicians and others from imitat¬ing their sins. \ (ii) The conditions for executing the death punishment. \ -\ The methods of treating the bewitched (removing the effect of magic), known as nashura, through the lawful ruqya (healing words), permissible adhkar (invocations), or with similar magic when necessary. \ -\ The research also includes the ruling for hiring ma¬gicians for working magic and treating the bewitched. The magicians' practices deceive some Muslims especially the ignorant or those whose faith is faith. These Muslims seek the help of magicians to solve their problems, in the belief that they have power over their happiness or misery. This is a misconception and a false claim because magicians live in the worst conditions and if they do possess such powers, they would have granted happiness to themselves. Everything they do is with the permission of Allah the Almighty, praised is He Who has power over everything. \ And peace and blessings be upon our master Muhammad and upon his family.
