The development of the heritage cities in Setif’s region The antique cities in Algeria constitute an urban outward appearance where all economic, urban, social and civilizational links have an effect but the fast development of population and the changes of social and economic fields caused a rapid structural alternation where these cities can’t adjust and used to quickly. In a radical form the region of Setif is considered according to its historical extension as a passageway by which a lot of civilizations passed through and each part of its territories had seen a considerable amount of monuments and old cities which still bear witness of those cultures and civilizations that passed during the Middle Ages and which considered also as a part of history that we have to protect it. Through some studies done in the region of Setif and its suburbs, the historic phases and architectural heritages, which colorful the city become very known. The geographic reach is an interesting element in forming and organizing the area because it is the principal base by which civilizations and human activities during the whole history depend on. The used ways in the laying out of civilization and in their geographic expansion can compose an obstacle to the success of any civilization or any balanced developing policy which aim at the conservation of this architectural heritage from any falling, destruction and bad exploitation of these historical cities and the architectural tissue that enjoyed it. The protection and the development of the above motioned heritage for a long term is a plan of high prospect and it deals with: • The urbanization of Setif’s region through the history and the upkeep tools of architectural cities. • The major problems that the ancient city is suffering from especially in the protection of the architectural heritage and its development. • What are the methods and techniques that have been taken to protect the urban tissue and what are their roles in the development programs?
En Algérie les villes patrimoniales représentent un panorama urbain ou se côtoientles liens économiques, sociales et civilisationnels entre les populations. L’urbanisation rapide a causé des mutations structurelles que ces villes n’ont pas pu adapter. à travers son histoire, La région de Sétif est considérée comme un recueil de plusieurs civilisations, les ruines et les édifices historiques témoignent de ce patrimoine urbain que l’on doit préserver. L’espace géographique est un élément fondamental dans la progression ou la régression des civilisations. Le développement et la sauvegarde du patrimoine urbain a long terme passe par : - l’extension urbaine de Sétifà travers son histoire et les outils de préservation des villes anciennes. - les problèmes que rencontrent les villes du patrimoine et son développement. - quels sont les démarches et les moyens qui on été pris pour sauvegarder leurs tissue urbain ? et quelle est leur part dans les plans de développement ?
