اهتم هذا البحث ببيان منهج الكرماني في شرح أحاديث صحيح البخاري، ومزايا هذا الشرح، وإفادة العلماء منه، وطريقته في التعريف برواة الأحاديث، ومنهجه في شرح ألفاظها وضبطها واشتقاقها، ووجه القصور في هذا الشرح، وأسبابه التي ترجع إلى قدرات الكرماني، وبيان المصادر التي أفاد منها في كتابه، وتوجهه نحو الانتصار لمذهب فقهي أو عقدي معين من خلال شرحه، ومنهجه في مناقشة الخلافات الفقهية والعقدية، وما أظهرته من ميله إلى المذهب الشافعي في الفقه والأشعري في العقيدة وعرض الباحث ذلك في أحد عشر محورا، هي: التعريف بالكرماني، ومؤلفاته وآثاره العلمية، والقيمة العلمية لشرحه، ومنهجه في التعريف بالرواة، وتحليل ألفاظ الرواية، وضبط الأسانيد والمتون، واستنباط الفوائد والأحكام ومذهبه العقدي وأثره في كتابه، ومذهبه في الفروع، وأثره في الشرح، ومصادره وطريقته في الإفادة منها، ومنهجه في مناقشة المخالفين.
