استهدف البحث الحالي التعرف على الخجل الاجتماعي لدى أمهات ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة، ومعرفة دلالة الفروق في الخجل الاجتماعي وفقاً لنوع الإعاقة وجنس المعاق، وتحقيقاً لذلك تم بناء مقياس الخجل الاجتماعي، والتحقق من الخصائص السيكومترية للمقياس وملائمته لعينة البحث، وبعد تطبيقه تم تحليل الإجابات باستخدام الاختبار التائي لعينة واحدة وجد هناك فرق بدلالة إحصائية عند مستوى (0.05) أي أن أمهات ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة لديهم خجل اجتماعي، وعند استعمال تحليل التباين الثلاثي لمعرفة دلالة الفروق في الخجل الاجتماعي بحسب متغيرات البحث والتفاعلات بينها، وجد هناك فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى (0.05) لمتغيرات نوع الإعاقة وجنس الطفل المعاق، وفي ضوء ذلك توصي الباحثة بضرورة الاهتمام بأسر ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة من خلال إقامة شبكات دعم اجتماعية ومهنية متخصصة للحد من التوابع السلبية للإعاقة.
The aim of this research is to Identify social shyness among Mothers of special needs children, and Identifying the difference in shyness among Mothers of special needs children according to the category of handicapped and gender variable (males- females), to achieve this aims the researchers construct a Scale of social shyness, psychometric characteristics was insure the appropriate of the scale for the sample of the research, after applying the scale, The analyzing of the answers impact the existence of social shyness among Mothers of special needs children by using t-test method by the significant sign (0.05),also appropriate statistical methods have shown the differences in social shyness according to the category of Impairments and gender variable (males- females)for the handicapped child , According to the results the researchers recommend to establish social and vocational and specialized institutions to help families of special need children to help them and prevents the negative consequence of the Impairments.
