|b A great number of companies, worldwide, engage in discretionary activities that are designed to enhance social welfare. As a consequence, researchers have found a connection between overall corporate social responsibil¬ity (CSR) and improvements in financial performance, consumers’ perceptions, and employees' work values, attitudes, and behaviors. However, there are few empiri¬cal articles (if any) that have considered the possible influences that the discretionary component of CSR has on employees philanthropy. Results of an online survey from 287 business professionals working in Kuwait indi¬cate that employee-company identification and employ¬ees' attitudes toward donations fully mediate the relationship between employees' perceptions of discre¬tionary CSR and employees’ donation intentions outside of work environment.
