المستخلص: Electronic management is a process of constructing technical solutions for organizing,, scheduling,, and arranging a lot of work field, services technique, and institutions administration for the achievement of the daily activities of the administrative machineries using technology of communication. The research has tackled the concept of "electronic management", importance, its requirements as well as the difficulties encountering its application, after reviewing the Western and Arab countries experiments in the field. It also investigates the possibility that this technology is first used in one of the most elevated institutions, which is the University of Basrah. This university embraces a qualified staff with high cultural & scientific level in the field of computers and internet is available. Also, computers are available at all colleges, departments, and scientific centers. The use of this technology is done through designing a local network peculiar to the university to provide various administrative services for the student and instructor through communication from any computer at the university with any source of technical or administrative service, represented in individuals, salaries, students affairs, library.... Etc. The results of the study of electronic management and range of utility at the University of the Basrah have been based on the analysis of views of employees at the university though their response to a questionnaire.
