تناولت هذه الدراسة حقبة مهمة من تاريخ السودان الحديث إذ شهدت انبعاث حركة وطنية وهي الثورة المهدية وهي حركة تجديد وإصلاح ديني وجهاد لمناهضة المستعمر من احتلال تركي مصري وانجليزي مصري للسودان والذي كان يسوده تدني في الأوضاع الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والسياسية. أبرزت هذه الدراسة مصادر التمويل لجيش المهدية والذي لعب دورا هاماً في مواجهة المستعمر في عدة معارك في فترة الإمام المهدي والخليفة عبد الله بن السيد محمد التعايشي، وقد تمثلت مصادر التمويل في الصدقة، الهدية، الزكاة، الفي، وتأميم المشاريع وإيرادات الجنائن وكانت الغنائم من أهم مصادر التمويل والتي زادت أثر معركة شيكان ١8٨٣ م وغيرها مما يجود الموسورين من تلقاء أنفسهم، لكن عصب الحياة لجسم المهدية هو الزكاة الشرعية على المحاصيل والأنعام والماشية وغيرها، وفي كل عمالة بيت المال أما في أم درمان بيت مال المسلمين العام، والذي توسع مع اتساع الفتوحات من الغنائم وزكاة البلاد المفتوحة حتى أصبحت دعامة للدولة المهدية فيما بعد. وتعددت أجزاؤه بتعدد أوجه الصرف والدخل.
Funding Resources of the "Mahdist Army". This study dealt with an important period in the history of modem Sudan. It witnessed the spring of a national movement against the colonizers, it is the "Mahdist Revolution". A religious reform and renewing movement, also as a struggle against the colonizers who were the Turku - Egyptian and the Anglo - Egyptian occupiers of the Sudan, which was predominantly under grade situations, socially, politically and economically. This study pointed out the resources funding and preparing the "Mahdist" army, which played an important role against the colonizers. In several battles during the rein of "Imam" Mohamed Ahmed AL-Mahdi and his Khalifa Abdullah AL-saed Mohamed AL-Taaishi. These funding resources are resembled in the Islamic donations (sadaga), the gifts & the present, the "Zakah" and "Al-fai" which were a compulsory repay of every revinew - in clouding rivers and sea ports, War confiscates (AL- Ganaeem) were the most important source for funding the army - after they win their battles, they were ever on the increase especially after the battle of "shekan" 1883. In addition to what wealthy people could give out including their annual gardens harvest, but the life - surer of the Mahdist state was the "Zakat". For each state there was a finance institution "bait Al-maal" in "Omdurman" there was the general Muslim financial Institution, which was enlarged due to the spread of AL-Mahadia conquests with their "Ganaeem" and "Zakats" Thus becoming the main financial support of the "Mahadia".
