المستخلص: This study deals with one of the language issues that has challenged both learners and educators at present and in the past ; as it will be revealed in answering the following questions: What do we mean by arabic language ? When and why it becomes an element of interest ? what Efferts made to standardize its grammar? Is what was presented by the anscestors sufficient to serve the goals of this honored language which was chosen by Allah (SWT) to be the vehicle of the heavenly message? Why is Arabic is commonly described as a difficult language? Did our scholars recognize this idea of difficulty that we are talking about NOW? What kind of efforts they made to deal with this condition? What is a nature of these efforts? Did these efforts continue or did they stop? What are the ultimate objectives of these efforts? Is it true that arabic grammar needs to be simplified? What sort of difficulties involved in this grammar? Is this claimed difficulty related to the language itself; or is it related to its curricular and method of teaching? Is it related to its teachers and professors or Is it related to the teaching aids used to present the language? Is this difficulty related to the social environment? Then what are the practical procedures' that can be used to diagnose the problems that affect the arabic language in the above designated areas? Do we need to treat the linguistic material itself or the textbooks? Do we need to consider the methods of teaching ; the curriculum or the language teachers? Do we need to update the teaching aids, the exercises ,the drills, and the texts? Do we need to consider the strategies and plans set by the government? Which kind of grammar do we need to present to our students? Is it the functional or the theoretical grammar? The above questions together with many other related ones shall be dealt with in this study.
