هدفت الدراسة إلى تعرف واقع المشاركة والممارسات الديمقراطية في النظام التعليمي في دولة الكويت، والكشف عن المعوقات التي تواجه هذه الممارسات، ومن ثم تقديم بعض المقترحات التي قد تسهم في توسيع عملية المشاركة الجماعية في النظام التعليمي في إطار من الديمقراطية. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم اختيار عينة عشوائية مكونة من(٢٤٩) طالبا وطالبة (٢٥٣) من أولياء الأمور، و(١٨) عضوا من المؤسسات الاجتماعية في المنطقة التعليمية. واستخدمت بطاقة مقابلة للعاملين بالمؤسسات المجتمعية، واستبانة لكل من الطلبة وأولياء الأمور، وتم إيجاد الصدق والثبات لأدوات الدراسة. ويمكن تلخيص نتائج الدراسة على النحو التالي: 1-إسهامات الطلبة وأولياء الأمور في الممارسات الديمقراطية كانت دون المناسبة في جميع مجالات الدراسة ما عدا مجال التحصيل الدراسي. 2-إسهامات أفراد المؤسسات المجتمعية كانت مناسبة. ٣-يوجد قصور في دور الإدارة المدرسية في إتاحة المجال للطلبة وأولياء الأمور والمؤسسات المجتمعية للمشاركة في النظام التعليمي.
The study aims to identify the democratic application and practice in the educational system in the State of Kuwait and detect the obstacles that may impede this application and practice. It, therefore, contributes some proposals for enhancing the collective contribution in the educational system within a demo¬-cratic framework. To achieve the objectives of the study, a random sample of the population was selected consisting of 249 male/ female students, 253 parents, and 18 representatives of social organizations in the educational zone. A structured interview card was constructed for the members of the social organizatins; a questionnaire was constructed for students and parents. Reliability and validity were calculated. Results can be summed up as follows: 1 - The contributions of students and parents in democratic acts were below average in all aspects of the study except educational achievement. 2 - The contribution of the members of the social organizations was average. 3 - There is a shortage in the role played by of the educational administra¬- tion in enabling students and parents as well as social organizations to contribute to the educational system.
