المستخلص: This article attempts to answer the question : Why the caliph Al Mammon adopted Mud ,twilight and Shiite views ? professor Soured argued that ALM'amun wanted to reconcile Alid. Pretenders in order to neutralize Shi'ite revolutionaries ; but in spit of his strong argument I do not think that National Reconciliation was a priority policy for ALM'amun. I rather feel that by the adoption of the createdness of the Qura'n official doctrine and the imposition of the Mihna in Baghdad and the provinces , he wanted to enhance his absolute power as Imam over and against the leaders of the Religious Institutions and the Arab dignitaries of Baghdad .My argument is supported by his attempt to reduce the Religious Institutions to political control so that he could legitimize and prohibit as an Imam without any challenge or opposition from the religious circles .
