Praise be to Allah, peace and blessing be upon Mohammed the honest and all his kinfolk and companions. In this Thesis, titled ( the Denotative Value of the Narratings of Poetry of Zuhair Ibn Abi Sulma), I studied the causes of difference in narrating in poetry in brief, I made a statistic of the verses that have more than narrating form. I studied each form from the language point of view including: meaning, I'rab and sarf, then I made a comparison between the narattings and weighed one to the other according to the requirements of meaning and sequence. The research plan was as follows: • Introduction. • Preface: introducing Zuhair Ibn Abi Sulma and his position in poetry, denotative value, narrating and causes of its differences and differences of narattings of poetry of Zuhair Ibn Abi Sulma. • Chapter One: Praise. Chapter Two: Other objectives of poetry; sanitization, threatening and warning, pride, description, lamenting, expostulation and wisdom. • Chapter Two: Other objectives of poetry; sanitization, threatening and warning, pride, description, lamenting, expostulation and wisdom. • Conclusions. • References. At the end of my research I would like to thank the Arabic Department at the College of Education, particularly Dr. Suhaila Taha Mohammed Al-Bayati who accepted supervising this Thesis and helped me a lot in solving the problems I faced during the research.
