المستخلص: Studying the critical methods is one of the important studies of the literary criticism, but we would not exaggerate if consider it as the backbone of any critical and literary work. That is, it is the key of any literary critical work. Furthermore, this method is the way adopted by any critic in his/her reading of any literary work. Studying the critical methods attracted Arab critics and those interested in the literary criticism. Though there are many critics in the subject, but what was written by the Arabs is not at the level of that of the west. With regard to criticism criticizing, it is as same as the critical methods, but what was written was so rare. As a result for that, we wish that our study would make some critical balance which might be adventurous to be involved in a critical area full of difficulties. That is we intermixed the critical methods and criticism criticizing. We did so through reading the articles published in Amman Cultural Journal on Poetry Criticism and following up the critical methods adopted by the Arab critics of their readings of many poetic works of many Arab poets. Also through studying the ways they used in applying those methods, and how far the Arab critics are successful in realizing the western methods and adapting them in the Arabic literary scripts. There are many reasons behind choosing studying the Methods of Poetic Criticism in Amman Journal specifically: - There are huge number of Arab critics (who have a good experience in literary criticism) publish in this journal. A matter that would lead to variety and richness in these experiences with different view points according to different critics and their various experience. - The journal deals with modern literature. A matter that make a large space for critics to use what is new on both critical and literary areas.

- Most of the critics who publish in this journal are majoring in modern literature and criticism. - Regularity of issuing the journal. The current study is mainly based on the modernism methods. That is, the dissertation is divided into three parts: the first one deals with method and methodology and their definitions. A light was shed on the Arab methodological criticism with focus on structuralism and theories of reading and comprehension. The second part deals with a comparison between Amman Journal and the other journals; like Journal of Arts (Beirutian), Journal of Poetry (Lebanese) and Journal of Aklaam (Iraqi). We did that in a way that showed the status of Amman Journal among the other journals. The dissertation is divided into three chapters: the first one deals with structuralism. It has two parts; the theoretical part which deals with the most important schools of structuralism, its pioneers and their structuralism views. And the practical part, which deals with critical articles adopted structuralism in reading the poetic works. The second chapter deals with the theories of reading and comprehension. It is divided into two parts; the first one deals with the theoretical aspect of the theory, its pioneers and their critical views. Whereas, the second part deals with the practical aspect. We reviewed the critical articles adopted the theories of reading and comprehension as methodology. The third chapter was entitled (Other Methods). It has been found that some of the critics adopted in the research, have adopted other methods in addition to structuralism and theories of reading and comprehension, they adopted the Integrality, Psychologism and Socialism. The three methods were reviewed and defined. The critical articles which adopted the aforementioned methods in the practical part of reading and research. The dissertation concludes with a conclusion of the results achieved.
