The thesis deals with the metrical formation in Al- Sayed Al-Hemmeary's poetry as one of the essential factors constituting the poetic rhythm. It is divided into two parts: the first one is concerned with studying the poetic meter, whereas the second one studies the thyme and all what is related to it. The aim of the thesis is to explain the influence of metrical formation in the general style off Al- Sayed Al-Hemmeary's poetry. Chief among the findings that the thesis has arrived at are: The poet follows the old Arab poets in terms of choosing meter and rhyme, he uses the long (Taweel) and complete (Kamil) meters a lot so as to go along with the narrative factor in his poetry. Also, he uses multiple meters in his poetry, a matter that unveils his outstanding poetic capability, as well as employing different metrical phenomena that serve the poetic rhythm such as rhyming and using extended images. The metrical formation in his poetry reveals an original Arab mood and highly artistic technique in employing the metrical devices that can serve the poem and influence the receiver. \
