|a يعد موضوع الغذاء وأهميته من الأمور المهمة في حياة سكان لأي دولة لأنه يتعلق بأمر مهم، توفير الغذاء وبكميات مناسبة لسد احتياجاتهم في ضوء تزايد أعداد السكان ومجابهة الظروف الغير متوقعة التي قد تواجه الدولة مستقبلا في توفير الغذاء، كما أن إنتاج أي قطر من لحوم الدجاج وبيض المائدة له أهمية كبيرة يشكل جزءا أساسيا من الغذاء اليومي لدي أعدادا كبيرة من شرائح المجتمع سواء ذات الدخل المرتفع أو ذات الدخل المحدود، لأنه يوفر كميات لا بأس بها من حاجة السكان للبروتين الحيواني. كما تناول موضوع البحث "تأثير الخصائص المناخية في إنتاج الدواجن وتباين وتوزيعها ودورها في الأمن الغذائي للمحافظة". وجاء ليسلط الضوء على واقع إنتاجها وبيان مدي التطور الذي شهده هذا النوع من الإنتاج لسنوات عديدة، فضلا عن بيان صورة التوزيع الجغرافي لمشروعات الدواجن وإنتاجها في المحافظة والكشف عن أسباب هذا التباين سواء كانت هذه الأسباب طبيعية أم بشرية، والقيام بدراسة ميدانية لأهم الحقول في المحافظة وطاقاتها الإنتاجية ومعرفة أهم الأمراض التي تصيب الدواجن خلال الفصل الحار والبارد وطرق السيطرة تعاني منها نتيجة تأثير العناصر المناخية للوصول إلى كيفية تطوير إنتاجها وإشباع حاجات السكان المتزايدة لهكذا نوع من الطيور الداجنة سواء من حيث اللحم أم البيض.
