|f Scientific literature has shown that research dedication to the impact of imagery on the perception of effort is rare [103]. Very few studies have examined the interaction between these two elements. These have been limited to motor actions performed under laboratory conditions.\nOur study seems to be original and unpublished. Our objective was to assess the effect of associative mental imagery on perception using a quasi-experimental approach applied to weightlifting, while taking into account the limitations and needs of research in this area.\nIn this sense, Christopher et al. [23] noted the existence of several limitations in the perception of pain, effort or fatigue. Specifically, the pain induced in the labs may not reflect the true nature of acute or chronic clinical pain felt in the field with actual practice conditions. Pen and Fisher [101], on the other hand, consider that obtaining reliable conclusions is conditioned by the induction of real pain.\nThis abstract translated by Dar AlMandumah Inc. 2018

|d La Littérature scientifique nous a permis de constater que les recherches dédiées à l'impact de l’imagerie sur la perception de l’effort sont rares [103]. Très peu d’études se sont intéressées à l’interaction entre ces deux éléments. Ces dernières se sont limitées à des actions motrices réalisées dans des conditions de laboratoire.\nNotre étude semble être originale et inédite. Notre objectif était l’appréciation de l’effet de l’imagerie mentale associative sur la perception selon une approche quasi- expérimentale appliquée sur l’haltérophilie, tout en tenant compte des limites et des besoins de la recherche dans cet axe.\nDans ce sens, Christopher et al. [23] ont relevé l’existence de plusieurs limites au niveau de la perception de la douleur, de l’effort ou de la fatigue. Plus précisément, la douleur induite dans les laboratoires pourrait ne pas refléter la vraie nature de la douleur clinique aiguë ou chronique ressentie dans le terrain avec les conditions réelles de pratique. Pen et Fisher [101], quanta eux, considèrent que l’obtention des conclusions fiables est conditionnée par l’induction d’une douleur réelle.\n
