المستخلص: تناول البحث دور أقسام المعلومات والمكتبات العراقية وقدرتها على مواكبة التطورات والتغيرات التكنولوجية الحديثة وذلك من خلال قدرتها على إعداد الطلبة وتأهيلهم لمواكبة تلك المتطلبات والتغيرات التكنولوجية في ظل التطور الذي يشهده تخصص المعلومات والمكتبات في العراق. تكمن أهمية البحث في معرفة واقع حال أقسام المعلومات والمكتبات المواكبة للتطورات التكنولوجية الحديثة عن طريق تأهيل الطلبة لمواجهة الثورة المعلوماتية، متناولاً جانباً مهماً وحيوياً في هذا المجال ألا وهو مقررات الأنظمة الآلية المحوسبة التي تمثل أساس نجاح عمل المكتبات وأقسام المعلومات والمكتبات في ظل التطورات الحالية وكل ما يتعلق بهذا الجانب من الاتجاهات والنماذج الحديثة والأهداف والتوصيف. وحاول الباحثان التعرف على تدريس الأنظمة الآلية والتكنولوجيا الحديثة وحجم تمثيلها في مقررات الأنظمة الآلية المحوسبة لمواكبة التطورات الحديثة وانعكاساتها على الأهداف التي تسهم في تطوير التدريس والتأهيل في مجال الأنظمة الآلية والتكنولوجيا الحديثة، والمشكلات التي تواجه أقسام المعلومات والمكتبات العراقية في تأهيل الطلبة في هذا المجال لمواكبة التطورات الحالية والمستقبلية. وقد توصل الباحثان إلى مجموعة من النتائج كان من أبرزها: ١ . التداخل والتشابه الكبيرين في مستويات الإعداد والتأهيل التي تقدمها الأقسام العراقية من حيث تسمية المقررات ومحتوياتها في مرحلتي الدراسات الأولية والعليا. ٢. إن الاتجاه التكنولوجي لمقررات الأنظمة الآلية في أقسام وبرامج الجامعات العراقية في مرحلتي الدراسة الجامعية الأولية والعليا جيد قياسا بالاتجاهات التكنولوجية والتغيرات الحديثة التي يشهدها تخصص المعلومات والمكتبات. وقد قدم الباحثان عدداً من المقترحات منها: ١ . إعادة النظر في المفردات المكررة للمقررات في مختلف المراحل واستبدالها بمقررات جديدة لتوسيع وزيادة نسبة المقررات المتعلقة بالأنظمة الآلية المحوسبة والتكنولوجيا الحديثة إلى المقررات الأخرى. ٢. أن يكون هناك تدريب عملي في أقسام المعلومات والمكتبات العراقية إلى جانب مادتي التطبيق العملي التي يتم تدريسهما بعد تعميقهما وجعلهما أكثر فائدة بما تتضمنانه من معلومات أساسية ذات علاقة بالنظم الآلية المحوسبة.

This research examined the role of Iraqi library and information departments and their ability for keeping up with the developments and changes in current technology by their ability of preparing and qualifying the students to keep abreast of requirements and changes of technology under which the specialization undergoes in Iraq. The importance of this research appears in explaining the current situation of library and information department that keep up with the current technological development by qualify the students to face the information age. The research examined a necessary and vital side in this field that is the computerized automated system curriculums which represent the base of success in libraries and library and information departments at the time of current developments and all that concerns this side including trends, models, aims and description. The researchers tried to know the teaching of Automated systems and the current technology and their representation size in the computerized automated system curriculums for keeping up with the current developments and their reflections on the aims that contribute in developing the teaching and qualifying in the field of automated systems current technology and the problems which face the Iraqi library and information departments in qualifying students in this field for keeping up with the current and future developments. The researchers have reached to a group of outstanding results : 1.The large similarity and interference in preparation and qualification levels that presented by Iraqi departments regarding the title of curriculums and their contents both at the undergraduate and post-graduate studies levels. 2.The technology trend of Automated Courses in the programs and departments of Iraqi universities for undergraduate and post-graduate studies, is good in comparison with technological trends and the current changes that occur in the specialization of library and information. The researchers presented suggestions, the most important ones are: 1-Reviewing in the reiterated items of the courses in different levels and substituting them by new courses for increasing and extending the courses that relate to the automated systems and the current technology to other courses. 2-There has to be a practical training in Iraqi library and information departments besides the two courses of the practical training which are being taught in these departments after improving them and making them more useful through adding basic information which relate to the computerized automated systems.
