هدف البحث الى الكشف عن السياسة الثقافية الأمريكية تجاه الوطن العربي من خلال دبلوماسية ثقافية أم إمبريالية ثقافية. وتناول البحث الحديث عن الفرق بين الدبلوماسية الثقافية بوصفها وسيلة معيارية تشترط مبدأ التفاهم المتبادل وبين الإمبريالية الثقافية بوصفها أداة خارجية ذات قوة ثقافية للتوظيف السياسي لخدمة المصلحة الوطنية المطلقة على حساب الآخرين. وارتكز البحث على عده نقاط. أولاً المناقشة الأدبية للإطار المفاهيمى. وثانياً أسباب ودلائل تزايد الاهتمام الثقافي الأمريكي بالوطن العربي. وثالثاً استراتيجية السياسة الثقافية الأمريكية تجاه الوطن العربي. واختتم البحث بأن تأثير الكتابات الأمريكية في مسار السياسة الثقافية الأمريكية تجاه المنطقة العربية متضمناً سببين رئيسيين. الأول هو صدور كتابات صموئيل هنتنغتون الذي يركز على أهمية العامل الثقافي في الصراعات الدولية ويتنبأ بأسبقية وحتمية الصدام الحضاري بين الثقافة الغربية والثقافة الإسلامية. والثاني بوقوع أحداث ١١ أيلول/سبتمبر ٢٠٠١ من توجيه الاتهام إلى أطراف عربية بشأن التورط فيها. كما توصل البحث الى أن ملامح التوجه الإمبريالي تتجلى في السياسة الثقافية الأمريكية تجاه الوطن العربي عبر مظاهر عديدة تبرز في وسائلها وأساليبها الثقافية المختلفة كالحرب الفكرية والإقناع الخداعي وميول التوسع والهيمنة والتشويه الثقافي فهذه المظاهر تعكس إلى حد بعيد معاني ودلالات الغزو الثقافي.كُتب هذا المستخلص من قِبل دار المنظومة 2018
The aim of the research is to reveal the American cultural policy towards the Arab world through either cultural diplomacy or cultural imperialism. The research dealt with the difference between the cultural diplomacy as a standard means based on mutual understanding and the cultural imperialism as an external tool with cultural force of political employment that serves the absolute national interest at the expense of the others. The research was based on several points. The first point concerns the literary discussion of the conceptual framework. The second point tackles the causes and indications of the growing American cultural interest in the Arab world. The third point regards the strategy of the American cultural policy towards the Arab world. The research concluded that the influence of the American writings on the course of the American cultural policy towards the Arab region includes two main reasons. The first is the publication of the writings of Samuel Huntington, which focuses on the importance of the cultural factor in the international conflicts and predicts the primacy and inevitability of the clash of civilization between the Western and Islamic cultures. The second represents in the events of 11 September 2001 in which Arab parties were accused of involvement. The research also found that the characteristics of the imperialist orientation are reflected in the American cultural policy toward the Arab world through various manifestations in its various cultural means and methods such as the intellectual warfare, deceptive persuasion, expansionism, hegemony and cultural distortion.
