|b (The Kingdom of Songhay) is the third largest political system in the West of Africa till the 10th Hidjri/the 16th century. The kingdom of Songhay has reached its peak during the time of “Sunni Ali”. And during the time of (Askya family) that lasted nearly a century, the kingdom of Songhay had seen a period of good days and prosperity. However, the important factor is the Islamic religion itself; it is characterized by a high social system that calls for equality between all people. The Arabian Islamic civilization manifested itself in Songhay during the times of Askya Mohamed and his successors in many aspects.
