المستخلص: تطور الزهد منذ القدم على أيدي الصالحين حتى وصل إلى مفهوم التصوف الروحي الذي اختلف العلماء في كنهه وماهيته ولكنهم اتفقوا على أن الروح نفخة ربانية ونفحة إلهيه يدرك البشر آثارها ويحسون نتائجها من دون أن يعرفوا ماهيتها لأنها من اختصاص الباري عز وجل، والإنسان يعمل على تقوية الصلة بين الوجدان والخالق سبحانه وتعالى ليصل بها إلى المعرفة الروحية التي يستمد منها روحانية تسمو بنفسه إلى طهر الإنسانية الفاضلة وجمالها وتجعله يعمل في لوازم صيانة عناصر هذه الصلة فتظهر في أقواله وأشعاره معرفة الله تعالى وصفاته، وعلى هذا الأساس قامت الدراسة بتسليط الضوء على شخصية صوفية عاشت في القرن الثالث الهجري وترجمت هذه المعاني بلغة الشعر في الحب الإلهي، وقد قام البحث على مدخل ومحورين وخاتمة، تصمن المدخل مفهوم التصوف والشعر الصوفي واسمه وكنيته واصله ونشأته وعصره ووفاته، أما المحور الأول فقد اختص بالدراسة الموضوعية لشعر سمنون، فيما اختص المحور الثاني بالدراسة الفنية لشعره ثم انتهى البحث بخاتمة وفيها أهم النتائج التي توصل إليها الباحث، ومن الله التوفيق.
