يسعى البحث للكشف عن دور الفن السردي في مواجهة الواقـع المعـيش، فـالعجز الإنساني في ظل المتغيرات الجذرية ألجأت الإنسان في العصر الحديث إلى البحث عن وسائل تعيد توازنه النفسي. يعلن الروائي في السرد عن موقف ما تجاه الواقع، لذلك لجأ يخلف إلى فن الرواية ليعبر عن رؤيته تجاه الواقع الفلسطيني الراهن في محاولة لاستجلاء هذا الواقع وتعريته وكشف حقيقة ما يدور فيه. لقد استطاع يحيى يخلف في روايته "نهر يستحم في البحيرة" مواجهة الواقع المعيش بحكايات الماضي مرة والحلم مرة أخرى في محاولة لتأسيس حلم جديد، يعيد إليه حالة توازن ذاتية تواجه حالة الاغتراب التي يعيشها في واقع مأزوم وحاضر مرير، لم يحقق للفلسطيني العائد في ظل أوسلو طموحه بالعودة بعد سنوات التشرد والغياب. وأيقن الفلسطيني أن إسرائيل لم تسرق أرضا فقط وإنما سرقت الحلم الذي رواه الآباء والأجداد للأبناء. فجاءت رواية "ماء السماء" في محاولة يتجاوز فيها الراوي الواقع المرير ويستعيد توازنه من خلال سرد حكاية الإنسان الفلسطيني من بدايتها حين حدثت النكبة. ورغم مرارة الواقع وضبابية الحاضر وآلامه، فإن الشخصيات تعيش حالة أمل وتفاؤل في نهاية الرواية، تؤكد حقيقة ملكية الفلسطيني للأرض وحقه بالعودة إليها.
This research attempts to reveal the role of the narrative art in confronting the actual circumstances. Human inability under the radical changes has forced man in the modern time to look for means of regaining his psychological equilibrium. In the narrative, the novelist declares a certain stand towards reality. That is why Yakhlef has resorted to the art of novel in order to express his view of the current Palestinian situation in an attempt to clarify this situation and expose the reality of what is going on in it. In his novel, A River Bathing in the Lake, YahyaYakhlef has been able to challenge the lived reality through the stories of the past at one time, and through the dream at another in an attempt to establish a new dream that gets him back the self-balance in order to confront the state of estrangement that he experiences in a critical reality and a bitter present that have not achieved for the Palestinian coming back under the umbrella of Oslo the aspiration of return after years of absence and expulsion. The Palestinian has come to the conclusion that Israel has stolen not only the land but also the dream passed over to the children by fathers and grandfathers. Hence, the novel, The Water of the Sky, has come as an attempt in which the narrator tries to go beyond the bitter reality and regain his balance by narrating the story of the Palestinians from its very beginning when the catastrophe took place. And despite the bitterness of the reality and the ambiguity and pain of the present, the characters live in a state of hope and optimism at the end of the story, emphasizing the reality of the Palestinian’s ownership of his land and his right to return to it.
