تهدف الدراسة إلى التعرف على الدور الذي قام به عبد الكريم قاسم خلال حرب 1948– 1949 في فلسطين، وبشكل خاص في منطقة كفر قاسم التي كانت تتمركز فيها قطاعاته العسكرية، حيث تحدثت الدراسة عن حياته وصفاته والمواقع التي تمركزت فيها القطاعات العراقية التي كانت تحت قيادته، وتحدثت عن طريقة انتقاله ما بين المناطق في فلسطين، وعن دوره في دعم المقاومين الفلسطينين وتثبيت الفلسطينين في أرضهم. كما تحدثت الدراسة عن أهم المعارك التي قادها في منطقة كفر قاسم وبشكل خاص محاولاته استرجاع مجدل الصادق ودفاعه عن بيارة المختار وديع، ودوره في تنظيف وتنظيم كفر قاسم والدفاع عنها. وتحدثت الدراسة على مواقفه من القيادة السياسية العليا في العراق ومواقفه من المبعوثين الدوليين الذين كان ي طلب منه مفاوضتهم، وعن طريقة مفاوضته للمسؤولين الصهاينه. وأظهرت موقفه وإصراره على عدم تسُليم المناطق التي كانت تحت قيادته للعصابات الصهيونية واصر اره على عدم الانسحاب منها، واختتمت الدراسة بإبراز الطريقة التي خرج فيها من فلسطين.
The study aims at identifying the role of Abd al-Karim Qasim during the War of 1948-1949 in Palestine, particularly in Kafr Qasim area in which his military sectors were stationed . The study talks about his life, his characteristics and the places where the Iraqi military sectors that he led were stationed . Also the study talks about the way he moved between areas in Palestine, and his role in supporting the Palestinian resistance and also he forcibly encouraged the Palestinians not to leave their land. The study also talks about the most important battles that he led in Kafr Qasim and in particular his attempts to get back Majdal Sadiq and his defense of the Mayor Wadih's orchard, and his role in cleaning and organizing Kafr Qasim and defending it. The study talked about his attitudes toward the higher political leadership in Iraq and his attitudes from the international envoys whom he was asked to negotiate with. The study also talked about the way he negotiated with the Zionist officials. It showed his position and his insistence on not transferring the areas that were under his leadership to the Zionist gangs and his insistence not to withdraw from it. The study was concluded by highlighting the way he went out of Palestine.
