يتمثل الهدف الرئيسي للدراسة في الكشف عن مدى المشاركة الاجتماعية للمرأة العربية بصورة عامة والمرأة الأردنية بخاصة في عملية التنمية، وذلك من خلال تحليل نتائج بعض الدراسات والبحوث التي تناولت قضايا المرأة ومشكلاتها في نماذج من المجتمعات العربية، وكذلك الدراسات التي اهتمت بقضايا المرأة الأردنية ومشكلاتها والتحديات المختلفة التي تواجهها على كافة الأصعدة والمستويات. وخاصة في ظل التطورات التي شهدتها أوضاع المرأة خلال السنوات الأخيرة، وذلك بفعل وتأثير القوانين والمواثيق الدولية من ناحية، ومنظمات حقوق الإنسان، والهيئات والمنظمات غير الحكومية العاملة في مجال المرأة. ونظراً لأن الدراسة تعد دراسة تحليلية للمشاركة الاجتماعية للمرأة العربية بصورة عامة والمرأة الأردنية بخاصة في عملية التنمية، فإن المنهج الوصفي التحليلي يمثل أسلوباً منهجياً مناسباً، وذلك من خلال تحليل بعض الدراسات والبحوث التي تناولت قضايا المرأة العربية والأردنية، وخاصة تلك القضايا التي تتعلق بواقع المرأة ومدى مشاركتها في عملية التنمية الاجتماعية، وكذلك تحليل بعض الإحصاءات التي تمثل مؤشرات كمية تعكس أوضاع المرأة الأردنية، ومدى مشاركتها في التنمية بصورة خاصة، والمجتمع بصورة عامة. وكذلك الكشف عن أهم المعوقات البنائية والثقافية التي ما تزال تحول دون المشاركة الفعالة للمرأة. ومن ثم تعتمد الدراسة على التحليلات الكمية لبعض البيانات الإحصائية التي تتعلق بحجم مشاركة المرأة الأردنية في المجالات التنموية المختلفة من جانب، والتحليلات الكيفية لمعطيات ونتائج الدراسات والبحوث المحلية التي تناولت قضية مشاركة المرأة الأردنية في عملية التنمية. \ \
The main objective of the study to identify the social participation of Arab women in general and women of Jordan in particular in the development process, by analyzing the results of some studies and research about women's issues and their problems of some Arab Societies, as well as the studies, which Focused on Jordanian women's issues and their problems and the various challenges they faced at all levels and dimensions. Especially in light of developments of women’s situation in recent Years owing to the impact of laws and international conventions on the one hand and human rights organizations, and bodies and non-governmental organizations working in the field of women on the other hand. Because the study is an analytical study of the social participation of Arab women in general and women of Jordan in particular in the development process, so the descriptive analytical method is suitable as a systematic approach, and through analysis of some of the studies and research on Arab women's issues and Jordanians, especially those issues that relate to the situation of women and the participation in the process of social development, as well as the analysis of some of the statistics that are quantitative indicators that reflect the situation of Jordanian women, and the extent of their participation in the development, in particular, and society in general. As well as the detection of the most important structural and cultural obstacles that still prevent the effective participation of women. And then study is based on quantitative analyzes of some statistical data related to the amount of Jordanian women's participation in various development fields by, and qualitative analyzes of the data and the results of the studies and research that dealt with the issue of local Jordanian women's participation in the development process. \ \
