The aim of this paper is to give the reader and practitioners in the domain of FL learning and teaching practical experience in examining the motivations, aspirations, needs, preferences, learning styles and other related cognitive aspects of an EFL learner The information is obtained via observations and interviews in order to provide a background profile of the learner and identify areas of strengths and weaknesses in English language ability. This is followed by adapting and supplementing teaching materials to suit the learner. A skills lesson for the learner is designed and tasks are developed for use with materials. Rational for using the material will also be given.
