المستخلص: From the heart of Saudi culture environmental essence is captured in brief powerful moments in short stories that convey full-fledged ideas. The present paper intends to contextualize Saudi minimalist/ short stories exploring the environmental and traditional roots shaping their identity. Through an analysis of four narrative texts by prominent writers both males and females, readers will get a genuine example of how culture shapes human psychological processes reflected in the perspective of those who are born and raised within its borders. Myriad of widely diverse cultural activities are jointly labeled by the "minimalist aesthetic thus taking on a deeper explanation of pre-existing determinants shaking the solid foundation of earlier approaches and creating a space for multiple interpretations and deeper understandings of their society. This paper gives a brief introduction of the applied theory and traces some of the definitions of the short story and minimalist narratives to answer why they became fashionable in Saudi contemporary literature.
