To evaluate the effect of repeated laundering with detergent on the performance of knitted structure, two types of knitted fabrics were produced. The first type is produced of single jersey structure from count (14, 17, 27 Tex), and the second is produced of rib structure from count (18,25, 24 Tex). All fabrics were laundered (wash, rinse, spin) [stitch length, air permeability, dimensional stability (width, length), and thickness] were tested. The work demonstrated that the changes occurring after laundering were largely caused in dimensions (width, length) and thickness. Electro ¬scanning microscope has been used to show the effect of repeated laundering, the distortion of fiber, yam, and fabric. |
