In the analysis of variance, we often encounter situations in which we want to make statistical inference for fixed treatment effects when there is a prior knowledge about the ordering on it. In this paper, we derive a method for estimation in balanced mixed models subject to a fixed treatment effect satisfies a certain partial order. This method is used to estimate the parameters of models such as the two-way mixed model with interaction, randomized complete block design and split-plot model. Examples are provided to illustrate the results. |
