هدفت الدراسة الي القاء الضوء علي تطور الاهتمام بتعليم الجغرافيا في إيران. واستخدم المنهج الوصفي. في توضيح مدى تأثر الجغرافيين الأوائل وطلابهم بفكر المدرسة الجغرافية في كل من النمسا وفرنسا. والمراحل التاريخية لتطور تعليم الجغرافيا. وأهم الدرجات العلمية في الجغرافيا التي تمنحها الجامعات والكليات في إيران في الفترة من 1851 حتى 1991م. والبرامج والدرجات العلمية الممنوحة. وأهم المعاهد ومراكز البحوث. ومدى الخلفية التربوية للجغرافيين في إيران. وأهم الجمعيات الجغرافية والمنشورات. وأهم فرص العمالة لخريجي أقسام الجغرافيا في الكليات والجامعات الإيرانية. وتوصل البحث الي أن الحرب العراقية الإيرانية أكدت على أهمية الدراسة الجغرافية وعلم الجغرافيا بصفة عامة للأفراد في حياتهم اليومية وتحقيق الأمن القومي للبلاد. كُتب هذا المستخلص من قِبل دار المنظومة 2018
The study aimed to shed light on the evolution of the interest in the geography education in Iran. The research used the descriptive approach in explaining the extent to which the early geographers and their students were influenced by the geography of the school in Austria and France, and the historical stages of the development of the geography education, and the most important degrees in the geography granted by the universities and the colleges in Iran in the period from 1851 to 1991, and the awarded programs and degrees, and the most important institutes and researches centers, and the educational background of the geographers in Iran, and the most important geographical associations and publications, and the most important employment opportunities for graduates of the departments of geography in Iranian colleges and universities. The study concluded that the Iran-Iraq war emphasized the importance of geographical study and the geography in general to individuals in their daily lives and the national security of the country..
