Religious diversity is a demographic fact in Canada. While often subsumed under the domain of culture in the past, dealing with religious diversity has emerged in recent years as a topic of its own as governments and the courts are increasingly asked to respond to or arbitrate tensions arising from religious differences. \ The project in this issue address questions such as these: What is the extent of religious diversity in Canada? How do societies and public institutions deal with this diversity? How should public policies in Education adapt to increasing religious diversity? What are the contours of religious diversity in Canada and how can we best respond to the opportunities and challenges presented by religious diversity in ways that promote a just and peaceful society? Specifically, the proposed project depends on content analysis and case study method for both programs and activities in Ontario public schools and its Relevance to Contemporary Issues such as pluralism, diversity and social change.
