المستخلص: عانت النساء والمدافعون عنهن من سيطرة المجتمع عليهن واستغلال الرجال لهن. فقد سيطر الرجال على المجتمع بكامله وكأنهم الوحيدون المسيطرون على كل شيء. وبسبب الثقافة والتعليم فقد احتل الرجال أعلى المراتب في كل المجالات. حيث أنهم الوحيدون الذين يملكون المنطق والعقلانية. ومن الشائع بل من المؤكد أن أي مجتمع يسلم سلطته للطبقة المثقفة الواعية وهي صفة الذكور. وقد عملت النساء بشكل مستمر على تغيير بنى القوى الموجودة اجتماعيا وسياسيا داخل مجتمعهن وخارجه. كما عملت النساء على تغيير السيطرة الذكورية التي اتسمت بها جميع مجالات الحياة: العائلة والتعليم والعمل والسياسة والثقافة. \ نادت ماري وولستون كرافت-والتي تدعى "أم الحركة النسائية" -في كتابها (الدفاع عن حقوق المرأة) إلى صحوة المرأة. وقد كان كتابها نتيجة مباشرة للوضع الاجتماعي والسياسي في ذلك الوقت. حيث طرحت فيه فكرة أن النساء هن أدنى فكريا من الرجال بسبب نظام التعليم الفاسد والخاطئ. وإن البشر يتميزون بالمنطق والفضيلة والمعرفة وإذا كانت النساء تحظى بكل حقوقها الطبيعية سيكن مساويات للرجال في كل المجالات حيث أن مؤهلات الإنسان لا تتعلق بجنسه. وقد أكدت وولستون كرافت حقيقة أن الفضيلة في المجتمع لن تأتي إلا من خلال المساواة بين الجنسين والتي ستفضي إلى توازن وهدوء أكبر في المجتمعات. حالة النساء هذه تشبه حالة الطبقة المستعمرة حيث أن كلاهما لا يستطيع الخروج عن نطاق الفضيلة. \ وفقا لعمل وولستون كرافت فإن البقاء مستقلا وحرا ومتعلما هو ما يؤكد أن البشر متساوون. وهي تؤكد بأن الاستقلال الأخلاقي مقياس الإنسانية وفيه يكمن الإيمان في التعليم كوسيلة لتحقيق هذا الاستقلال. \ تحاول ماري وولستون كرافت أن تبرهن بأن حياة النساء المتدهورة يمكن أن تمحى عن طريق حرية الوصول إلى تعليم متساويين الجنسين حيث أن عدم المساواة هي بنية اجتماعية. ولذلك يمكن للمرء أن يتوصل إلى أن أفكار وولستون كرافت كانت حجر الأساس الذي اعتمد عليه الكثير من المدافعين عن النساء وحقهن في المساواة والحرية. \ هذا البحث يناقش فكر ماري وولستون كرافت فيما يتعلق بحقوق النساء: الفضيلة والمساواة والحرية. \

Being under the domination of both males and society, women, like feminists, recognized that such a situation was a kind of colonization and exploitation they suffered from. Men controlled the whole society as the only dominant beings. \ Because of their education, men have higher positions everywhere. They are seen as the only humans that have reason and rationality and it is common that any society gives authority and control to the reasoning and rational class – a \ male characteristic. \ Feminists were always working to change the existing power structures, socially and politically, both at home and abroad. \ They were working on changing the existing patriarchal domination in society. These relations structured all areas of life, the family, education, work, politics and culture. But their expectations were far from reality; they had a myopic sight. \ In A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, which was mostly a direct result of the social and political climate of the age, Wollstonecraft cries for the awakening of women. She devotes her book to the case of women – seen intellectually inferior to men because of the false system of education. Mankind is distinguished by reason, virtue, and knowledge and if women have all the 'Natural Rights', they will be equal to men in all fields asserting that human qualities don't differ by sex. In her book, Wollstonecraft confirms the fact that virtue in society and between sexes will come only from equality which would lead to greater tranquility in families and societies. Neither women, nor the colonized class in society can act out of virtue because of being restricted. \ According to Wollstonecraft, only being independent and educated can prove if humans are equal or not. She insists that moral autonomy is the measure of one's humanity having the passionate faith in education as a means of achieving such autonomy. She argues that marked women's lives can be erased by equal access to education for that their inequality was a social construction. \ Keeping this in mind, one can argue that Wollstonecraft's ideas were the cornerstone upon which many subsequent feminist writers constructed arguments that advocated the equality of the sexes and women's emancipation. Her influence \ was very effective. \ This study discusses Wollstonecraft's manifesto concerning not only the rights of women but virtue, equality and freedom as they are introduced in her renowned book. \
