Purpose: The study examines electronic plagiarism from the perspectives of students at the colleges of Kuwait University; namely schools of Education, Legislation, Girls, Sciences, Medicine, Administrative sciences, Arts, Social studies, and Engineering. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the extent of the phenomenon of plagiarism in higher education as it takes place in printed and electronic materials where the copyright is violated. The paper will try to answer the following questions: \\ 1.\\\ How much is plagiarism spread? \\ 2.\\\ What are the reasons behind plagiarism? \\ 3.\\\ What are the styles/ways of plagiarism? and, \\ 4.\\\ What are the best ways for solving this plagiarism phenomenon? \\ Design/Methodology /approach: \\ The study was conducted on a sample of (540) students categorized by gender (Male/Female), specialization (Education, Legislation, Girls, Sciences, Medicine, Administrative sciences, Arts, Social studies, and Engineering). Educational level (Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4), via a (27) item questionnaire. We assume In this study that at the confidence level of (.005) there is no significance between the response of the sample population about the spread of (Q18), Reasons (Ql-8), Styles (Q9-17), and Solutions (Q 19-27). \\ Findings: \\ The members of the study sample generally believe that there is electronic plagiarism in the colleges of Kuwait University, agree that the plagiarism phenomenon does exist, agree that the reasons the researchers list are valid, agree that the solutions the researchers lilted are feasible, but disagree with the researchers regarding the styles of plagiarism. \\ Originality /value: \\ This study is important for several reasons. First, this is the first field study that examines electronic plagiarism from the perspectives of those students involved in it at the colleges of Kuwait University; namely the schools of Education, Legislation, Girls, Sciences, Medicine, Administrative sciences, Arts, Social studies, and Engineering. Second, it provides recommendations and proposals for designing an evaluation electronic plagiarism. Third, it helps lay down criteria for the phenomenon of plagiarism in higher education. Finally, it examines the viewpoints of researched participants involved in the electronic plagiarism in higher education, showing potential differences of opinion with regard to electronic plagiarism.
