|b The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of a program based on the debating strategy in developing EFL pre-service teachers' oral communication skills and critical thinking dispositions. The sample of the study consisted of thirty seven third year English majors at Port Said Faculty of Education. The one group pre-post test quasi-experimental design was used. The instruments of the study included an oral communication skills test and a rubric for scoring the test. It also included the Arabic version of California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory (CCTDI). The results of the study revealed that the proposed program significantly developed the subjects' oral communication skills and critical thinking dispositions
