|b The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of a program based on mental imagery in developing English vocabulary of EFL primary school slow learners. The sample of the study consisted of one hundred fifty one Fifth grade pupils at Mohamed Hassan Alzayat primary school in Damietta Governorate. The three groups progress-post test quasi- experimental design was used. The instruments of the study included a pre vocabulary test, an intelligence test for children prepared by Iglal Mohamed Seree, progress vocabulary tests (achievement and recall) and post vocabulary tests (achievement and recall). The results of the study revealed that the proposed program significantly developed English vocabulary for both slow learners and their normal peers
