The workshop was sponsored by and Rakaiz Al-marifah for Research & Studies and the Embassy of People's Republic of China in Khartoum which ensured the budget. Five Researchers from china, eight from African countries, one Researcher represented the African Union and six Researchers from Sudan, were participated in the workshop. The workshop Continued for two days discussed 20 papers covered the three main topics of the workshop, the opening session was addressed by his Excellency the State Minister of Agriculture and Forests, in the presence of his Excellency Ambassador of the People's Republic of China and the Executive Director of Rakaiz Al-marifah for Researh & Studies, while the closing session was addressed by his Excellency the Federal Minister of Agriculture and Forests Prof. Ibrahim Addekhairy in the presence of his Excellency the Political Counselor of the Embassy of People's Republic of China and the Executive Director of Rakaiz Al- marifah for Researh & Studies. Identify the capabilities, potentials and experiences of African countries in achieving agricultural development and food security. 2. Identify China's experience in agricultural development to African countries as lessons learned to achieve agricultural development and food security. 3.Draw a road map for the future of Sino-African partnership in agriculture sector. The main Topics of the Workshop: 1.Food security and Agricultural development in Africa: opportunities and challenges. 2.China’s experiences in agricultural development and the implications for Africa. 3. Future of Sino-African partnership in agricultural development in Africa, practical proposals.
