استهدف البحث تقديم دراسة ميدانية عن مجتمع المعلومات والمعرفة كمجال للدراسة في أقسام دراسات المعلومات العربية. واستخدم البحث المنهج المسحي وتحليل محتوى أدلة المقررات باستخدام قائمة مراجعة تتضمن العناصر الواجب توافرها اعتماداً على الإنتاج الفكرى في الموضوع. وأقتصر البحث على البرنامج الأكاديمي لقسم المكتبات والوثائق وتقنية المعلومات بجامعة القاهرة. وتوصلت نتائج البحث إلى بدأ مجال مجتمع المعلومات يحظى بالاعتراف كموضوع يستحق دراسة أكاديمية كمقرر أو كعدة مقررات في البرامج الجامعية سواء على مستوى المرحلة الجامعية الأولي أو على مستوى الدراسات العليا. كما أظهرت النتائج لا تهتم الأقسام الأكاديمية العربية لدراسات المعلومات بتدريس مقرر عن مجتمع المعلومات. إذ أسفر البحث والفحص عن عدد قليل جداً من الأقسام يقدم مقرراً عن الموضوع أبرزها قسم المكتبات والوثائق وتقنية المعلومات بجامعة القاهرة. وهو يقدم في مستوى الدراسات العليا في شعبة تقنية المعلومات سواء في الدبلوم أو في مرحلة الماجستير. كما يزال طرق التقييم قائمة في أغلبها على الامتحانات التحريرية رغم وجود وسائل أخرى. وأوصى البحث بضرورة العمل بكل الطرق الممكنة على إدخال مقرر أو أكثر عن مجتمع المعرفة ضمن برامج أقسام دراسات المعلومات العربية من أجل التكيف مع البيئة الجديدة لمجتمعات المعلومات العربية التي تسعي إلى النهضة والتنمية الشاملة. وإثبات الدور الحيوي الذي يؤديه اختصاصي المعلومات في بناء مجتمع المعرفة. كُتب هذا المستخلص من قِبل دار المنظومة 2018



The research aimed to discuss a field study on the information and knowledge society as an area of study in the departments of Arabic information studies. The research used the survey approach and analysis of the content of the course guides using a checklist that contain the elements to be met depending on the intellectual production in the subject. The research was limited to the academic program of the Library, Documentation and Information Technology Department at Cairo University. The results of the research led to the beginning of the information society field, which is recognized as a subject worthy of an academic study as a course or as a number of many courses in the university programs, both at the undergraduate level and at the postgraduate level. The results showed that the Arab Academy of Information Studies does not care about teaching a course on the information society. The research and examination found that very few sections are presenting a course on the subject, most notably the Library, Documentation and Information Technology Department at Cairo University. It offers a postgraduate level in the IT Division both in the diploma and in the master's degree. The methods of evaluation are still largely based on the written examinations, despite the existence of other means. The study recommended the necessity of working in all possible ways to introduce one or more courses about the knowledge society within the programs of the Arab information studies departments, in order to adapt to the new environment of the Arab information societies that seek to achieve a renaissance and comprehensive development, and to demonstrate the vital role that the information professionals play in building a knowledge society.This abstract translated by Dar AlMandumah Inc. 2018
