استلهم حازم القرطاجي (ت684هـ) الفكر اليوناني والفكر الفلسفي الإسلامي، ووظفه في منهاجه ومن تلك المصاديق للتطبيق، هو رسم حدود الجد والهزل للشاعر، وأبعاد كل صنف منهما، وما يمكن أن يستعير أحدهما من الآخر، وهذا الاستلهام قد تنبه إليه الفكر النقدي الحديث الذي أكد هذه الصلة بين العرب، واليونان والفلاسفة، لكون حازم قد اقتبس من سقراط، ومن الشراح الفلاسفة المسلمين لكتاب "فن الشعر" لأرسطو وهو مما حاولنا الإحاطة به، لبيان خصال أسلوب الجد، وأسلوب الهزل، مع الكشف عن الموقف النقدي للباحثين، ومدى اتفاقه مع نصوص "منهاج البلغاء وسراج الأدباء" لتأصيل الفكر النقدي المنشود من لدن حازم القرطاجني.
