This study investigated the influence of course diversification programs on EFL. learners’ strategy use; the typical language learning strategies KFL Arabic-speaking learners tend to use; and how they differ from other ethnic groups in their strategy use. The study made use of positivism at the level of omology (one form of reality), epistemology (deraehment rather than interaction with the research subjects) and methodology (use of a ‘nomothetic’/ standardized research strategy (survey) and instrument (a closed-ended self-reporting questionnaire)). The research data was analyzed through percentages and means, one- wav multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA/ Lambda test) and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA/ Scheffe post-hoc test of multiple comparisons). Working with EFL College students, the study concluded that course diversification influenced students’ strategy use of compensation strategies in favour of scientific tracks of study. However, the study did not find differences between or within the humanities and science programs of study. It further concluded that disagreement still continue between ethnic groups of learners in their patterns of strategy use. The study recommended that clear identification of effective learning strategies could guide generic-education curriculum developments and innovations in general and EFL curriculum development in particular. This would also facilitate curriculum implementation (instruction).
