المستخلص: The question of modernity in the thinking life of Habermas is fundamental, it is so Important that it is considered the spirit of his project. Hubermas propose an ambitious project to reconstruct the modernity and defend the heritage of Enlightenment, The aim of This article, is to elucidate this subject. But the program of Enlightenment has not well succeeded according the Frankfort school like (Horkheimer and Theodore Adorno). Because the (aufklarung) Enlightenment ended to found the empire of instrumental rationality The philosopher of the neitzschien tradition such "Heidegger Derida Foucault Bataille" have the same point of view, and they shared the idea (the end of modernity), so they suggest a new project "post modernism" But Hubermas don’t agree the deconstruction of the enlightenment heritage, at his point of view the modernity project had not be achieved Then he looks at the rehabilitation of Western reason and reconsidered its emancipatory potentiality based on the theory of consensus through free discussion The theory of communicational reason it is a therapeutic reconstruction of modernity, he inspired the theory of speech acts presented by "Searle, strawson, Austin" like an universal pragmatic, Habermas formulate a conception of communicative reason when he research the agreement between subjects that can act and talk
