المستخلص: لطالما ارتبط الشعر بظاهرة الاغتراب، لاعتبار الشعر سبيلا للتعبير عن كل ما يجول في النفس من مشاعر وأحاسيس مرهفة يتحسسها الشاعر الذي يخالف البشر العاديين بشدة تأثره؛ فقد وجد الكثير من الشعراء أنفسهم في عالم مقفر، تراجعت فيه المثل الروحية والاجتماعية، وافتُقِدَت أواصر الحب الإنساني الذي يتشوفون إليه، فعانوا من الاغتراب أيما معاناة، وراحوا يبرزونه في عدة صور ومن عدة جوانب. قصيدة "شلالات نياغارا" ليحيى شامي هي واحدة من قصائد الشعر المكاني التي تختزن في طياتها صوراً لاغتراب اجتماعي-سياسي يعيشه الشاعر ازاء تقهقر القيم والمبادئ السامية التي عرفت بها حضارته الشرقية وازاء تقاعس الحكام العرب عن نصرة أرض فلسطين، لذا هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى ابراز ملامح الاغتراب Alienation في القصيدة ودراسة رمزية المكان وأثره في اظهار اغتراب الشاعر، مستعينة في مقاربتها النقدية بالنقد الموضوعاتي والتأويلي الذي هو من اتجاهات النقد الحديثة التي تنـهض علـى مستوى الدلالة في النص، وتتيح استخدام كافة المفاتيح الممكنة من ظواهر وجودية، وجماليـة، ونفسـية وغيرها

Poetry has always been associated with the phenomenon of alienation. We consider poetry as a way to express all feelings and emotions in the soul felt by the poet, who is different from ordinary people in that he is more sensitive. Many poets found themselves in a desolate world, where the spiritual and social ideals declined. They missed the bonds of human love for which they have searched. They have suffered greatly from alienation manifesting it in many ways and aspects. The poem "Niagara Falls" by Yahia Shami is one of the poems of spatial poetry. It contains images of the socio-political alienation experienced by the poet about the decline of lofty values and principles of the Eastern civilization. In addition, it contains images of the failure of Arab rulers to support the land of Palestine. This study aims to highlight the features of alienation in the poem and to study the symbolism of the place and its impact in showing the alienation of the poet. This is by using its critical approach to thematic and interpretative criticism, which is one of the modern criticism trends that rise on the level of significance in the text, and allows the use of all possible existential, aesthetic and psychological phenomena and others.
