التغير الدلالي محور رئيس من محاور الدرس الدلالي الحديث، إذ تركزت جهود الباحثين فيه ضمن ما دعي بعلم الدلالة التاريخي: (Semaioiogie)، ويطلق هذا المصطلح على تغير معنى الكلمة على مر الزمن بفعل إعلاء أو انحطاط أو توسع أو انحسار أو مجاز، أو نحو ذلك. وإن التغيير الذي يطرأ على بنية اللغة، ولا يحدث إلا إذا توفرت عوامل موضوعية وأخرى ذاتية تدفع العناصر اللغوية إلى تغيير دلالاتها، ولا تخرج تلك العوامل عن ثلاثة: عوامل اجتماعية ثقافية، عوامل نفسية، وعوامل لغوية. والحق أن موضوع التغير الدلالي موضوع متشعب وكثر القول فيه، ورأى بعض اللغويين أنه من الصعوبة البالغة الخوض فيه، بيد أن الدراسات اللسانية الحديثة قدمت للباحثين من المعطيات ما يمكن إعادة النظر فيه وإعادة تبويب موضوعاته وتوجيه بعض المسائل العالقة فيه، سأقتصر في هذا البحث على التكوين المعرفي لعوامل التغير؛ كونها تمثل مفصلا محورياً في دراسته أولاً، وساحة اشتغال واضحة عند اللغويين. ثانياً: ويهدف البحث إلى تلمس الأسس المعرفية الابستمولوجية التي كونت التغيرات الدلالية.
