المستخلص: Despite its originality, Tennyson's poem Locksley Hall’ shares some considerable characteristics with the Mu'allaqat , namely those of Imru’ al - Qays and Antara. Similarity extends from length to rhyme, metre, genre, themes and appeal. As it proves this comparatively, the present paper attempts to show in parallel that Tennyson uses these ST resources to adapt them to the concerns and subject matter of his own poem and not for the purpose of translating these Mu'allaqat. It follows that Locksley Hall’ needs to be studied in modern scholarship not only as a poem that reflects some aspects of Tennyson’s biography and poetic craft, but also as an imitation of other poetry.At the same time that it is based on the findings of other work, this paper aims to get into deeper details that unveil the imitative strategy adopted by Tennyson in Locksley Hall.’ Additionally, in contrast to prior publications which restrict Tennyson’s influence to the Muallaqa of Imru al - Qays, the present paper argues that Tennyson mixes up two.
