The present paper examines the non - translatable aspect in discourse production and comprehension which is not related directly to the literal meaning of words, but it is implicitly conveyed by means of implicatures. I study implicatures as a continuum from semantic, semantic - pragmatic and pragmatic inferences to what is socio - culturally and politically implicated. The current study shows that the different types of implicature rely ultimately in their understanding on the context in which they occur. I intend to show how such an aspect helps to provide a plausible and faithful translation in order to stop many instances of manipulation that can be committed by the translator.
