يستهدف هذا البحث التعريف بأبرز اتجاهات دراسة ظاهرة الإرهاب والتطورات التي طرأت عليها خلال العقود الأربعة المنصرمة، بكل ما يقتضيه ذلك من ضرورة التعريف بجملة الجهود البحثية التي استهدفت تحديد مدلول الإرهاب، والأطراف أو الكيانات التي تمارسه، وأبرز سمات الظاهرة الإرهابية، وأظهر الأهداف التي يستهدفها العمل الإرهابي، وأهم بواعث هذه الظاهرة (أسبابها ودوافعها)، وذلك إلى جانب الوقوف على أبرز التحولات النوعية التي مرت بها الظاهرة الإرهابية عبر تاريخ العالم المعاصر. ويتضمن البحث ثلاثة مباحث تعرض في ثناياها لأبرز اتجاهات تحليل ظاهرة الإرهاب في الأدبيات المعاصرة، حيث يتناول المبحث الأول تحليل جذور الظاهرة الإرهابية وتطورها التاريخي، ويركز الثاني على شرح اتجاهات التعريف بالظاهرة الإرهابية، أما المبحث الثالث فينطوي على تحليل لبواعث هذه الظاهرة.
This study aimed to explain the most prominent trends in the study of the phenomenon of terrorism in contemporary literature, and the developments that have taken place during the past four decades. This requires explain most of the research work aimed at defining the concept of terrorism, and the parties or entities that are practiced, and the most prominent terrorist phenomenon characteristics, the most important objectives targeted by a terrorist act, and the most important reasons and motives of this phenomenon, as well as the most prominent qualitative transformations experienced by the phenomenon of terrorism through the history of the modern world. The paper contains three sections offer in the folds of the most prominent trends in the analysis of the phenomenon of terrorism in contemporary literature; where deals with the first part, the analysis of the roots of the phenomenon of terrorism and its historical development, and the second focuses on explaining the definition of terrorist phenomenon trends, while the third section involves an analysis of the motives of terrorist phenomenon.
