التقديم والتأخير من أهم مباحث علم المعاني، الذي يبحث في بناء الجمل، وصياغة العبارات، ويتأمل التراكيب، لكي يُبرز ما يكمن وراءها من أسرار ومزايا بلاغية، ومن المسلم به أن معنى الجملة ليس هو مجموع معاني المفردات التي تتألف منها، بل هو حصيلة تركيب هذه المفردات في نمطٍ معين، حسب قواعد لغوية محددة، كما أن الساعة مثلا، ليست مجموع القطع المعدنية التي تتألف منها، وإنما هي آلة تتكون من هذه القطع حسب قواعد معينة، لتؤدي وظيفة لا تؤديها أيٌّ من القطع وحدها، ولا تؤديها كل القطع مجتمعة إلا إذا ركبت بطريقة محددة. فنسق الجملة وكيفية ترتيب الأجزاء فيها، ينبغي أن يؤخذ بنظر الاعتبار، ذلك أن المعنى يتولد فقط من ترتيب الألفاظ والعبارات، ومعنى هذا أن لكل تركيب نظمه وترتيبه، ومواقع ألفاظه. والترابط في الكلام ووضع كل كلمة في مكانها المناسب من الجملة، من أهم مقومات البلاغة والبيان، وكثير من الكلمات لو قدمتها أو أخرتها عن محلها لتغير عليك المعنى الذي تريد، أو ضاع جماله ورونقه، لأن تقديم اللفظ وتحويله من مكان إلى آخر، يغير المعنى. وتغيير المعنى بتقديم اللفظ، وتحويله عن مكانه، لا يكون جُزافاً وعبثاً، وإنما يتم وفق أسس وضوابط، وأغراض يقصد إليها المتكلم، فيقدم ما يريد التنبيه عليه والالتفات إليه، ويؤخر ما لم يُرِد فيه ذلك. ويتميز القرآن الكريم بالدقة في اختيار الكلمة، والدقة في اختيار موضعها، فإذا قدم كلمة على أخرى فلحكمة لغوية وبلاغية تليق بالسياق العام. إذن فلكل كلمة في موضعها من الجملة معنى، متقدمة كانت أو متأخرة. والسؤال الذي يطرح نفسه: لماذا يقدم بعض الكلام على بعضه الآخر؟ وما جدوى ذلك؟ هذا ما سأحاول الإجابة عليه في هذا البحث. \

It is entirely undisputable that the whole meaning of a sentence is not the meaning of each word that comprises it but it is the outcome meaning of its whole vocabularies after being arranged in special pattern, order and reasonable linguistic rules. The clock, for example, is not just the total number of its metallic parts but also it is a machine made out of all its parts arranged in a special order to perform, together, a specific duty that could not be accomplished by each part alone. Therefore, the order of the words and phrases and the way of arranging these particles within the sentences of the text should be highly considered and attended to if you need your text to be a master piece from all aspects. The connection in wording and the harmony among them that is generated from placing each vocabulary in its proper place within each sentence is one of the most important characteristics of rhetoric given only to the gifted. Whenever a writer wrongly moves a words or phrase from its proper place, the meaning he intended would be changed and he will loose control over the text and it will be finally deformed. When you need to move a word from its place to serve a special purpose you think about, there are strict rules and linguistic controls that should be observed. You may bring forward a word or phrase bearing a meaning or an idea you like to shed a light on or emphasize or draw the attention of the audience, listeners or the readers to, then drop or move the insignificant word or phrase to the rear. This is the proper way to give birth for a talented writer and fine writing.
