موقع الضبط يعد احد المكونات الهامة في تحديد العلاقة الارتباطية بين سلوك الفرد وما يتوقعه من نتائج مؤديه به نحو النجاح أو الفشل في تحقيق أهدافه على ضوء قدراته وإمكانياته، وان موقع الضبط مزيجا من الضبط الداخلي والخارجي وان الاختلاف بينهما يكمن في درجة السيطرة لأي منهما، إن اللاعب هو الذي يقدر ما يستطيع أن يحققه في مجال عمله استناداً إلى ما يمتلكه من قابليات ولا يمكن أن يصل إلى تحقيق طموحاته ما لم تكن لديه دافعية تحفزه لتحقيق أهدافه التي يسعى الوصول إليها من خلال ما يكمن ويسيطر لديه من موقع الضبط، وهذا ما تتطلبها مرحلة المنافسات من موقع ضبط بدرجة عالية لدى جميع اللاعبين، ومن هنا تكمن أهمية البحث في دراسة واقع موقع الضبط لدى لاعبي العاب القوى ومعرفة أي الأنماط السائدة لديهم ومعرفة الفرق بين هذه الأنماط تبعا لفئتي(الناشئين والشباب) في بطولة أندية العراق، أما مشكلة الدراسة فحددت في قلة الدراسات التي حددت وفسرت الفرق في موقع الضبط عند أكثر من فئة من فئات العاب القوى ضمن موقف رياضي موحد، وهذا ما يؤدي إلى صعوبة بيان الحقائق لدى الفئات الرياضية عن مكنونهم الداخلي لموقع الضبط وما يتميزن به عند كل فئة بوصفهم يمارسون فعاليات فردية متعددة تتطلب مجهود ذاتي وثقة عالية في النفس، وتضمنت الدراسة هدفين من خلال التعرف على نمطي موقع الضبط لدى ناشئي وشباب العاب القوى المشاركين في بطولة أندية العراق، وتحديد الفرق بين نمطي موقع الضبط لدى ناشئي وشباب العاب القوى المشاركين في بطولة أندية العراق. وتم الاعتماد على المنهج الوصفي بأسلوب الدراسات المقارنة، مستخدمين مقياس موقع الضبط المتكون من (34) فقرة، ومستخرجين الأسس العلمية للمقياس والمتمثلة بالصدق والثبات والموضوعية، وتم التعرف على موقع الضبط للعينة وتحديد المقارنات تبعا للوسط النظري للمقياس والفئة الرياضية ونمط موقع الضبط عند كل فئة، وتبين وجود دلالة إحصائية معنوية مع الوسط النظري ووجود دلالة إحصائية معنوية تبعا لنمط موقع الضبط وجود دلالة معنوية أيضا تبعا للفئة الرياضية وان موقع الضبط لدى الناشئين من النمط الخارجي ولدى الشباب موقع ضبط داخلي.\
