| 520 | |b The main objective of this study is to establish a framework for the program planning process of the agricultural extension service in Sudan. This framework will be of value to extension administrators, helping them improve their current program, and will provide them with a guide for understanding the concept, principles, processes, and models of extension program planning. It will also provide a means of increasing the understanding of effective planning of planners and other concerned authorities. The most relevant literature for the extension program planning has been reviewed in this study and has provided the basis for discussing the concepts, importance, principles, process, and models of program planning. The proposed framework for program planning including seven phases: (1) formulating broad policies, procedures, and objectives for program planning; (2) preparing for program planning; (3) organizing for program planning; (4) planning the program; (5) implementing the program; (6) evaluating the program; and (7) reconsideration. The model outline does not solve all the problems of agricultural extension programs in the country, such as, the lack of qualifications of extension employees, ineffective field demonstrations, ineffective communication roles in developing the field, etc., since they are outside of the scope of this study. | ||
