يحاول هذا البحث الوقوف على الاتجاه الرومانسي في شعر محمد العيد الخطراوي، وتحديد أبعاده الموضوعية والفنية، وجلائها. وقد بدا للباحث تأثر الشاعر محمد العيد الخطراوي بكثير من خصائص الرومانسية المذهبية، معني ومبني. فعلى صعيد الموضوعات والمعاني تجلت آثار هذا الاتجاه في تغنيه بالحب، وهيامه بالمرأة، وتعلقه بالشديد بها روحاً ووجداً وعذاباً، والوقوف في محراب الطبيعة وتملي جمالها وتأملها، والتعبير من خلالها عن ذات نفسه في أحوالها المختلفة، وإحساسه الحاد بالغربة، وشعوره بالوحدة والضياع، وحزنه وشكواه من بؤس الحياة التي يحياها. ولواذه بالماضي هروباً من حاضره القاسي، وإقباله على الموت بعد أن ضنت عليه الحياة بما سعي إلى بلوغه فيها من آمال وأحلام. أما في البناء الفني فقد بدت آثار هذا الاتجاه في اعتماد الشاعر على الألفاظ السهلة المألوفة في التعبير عن معانيه وأفكاره، واستخدام الكلمات الموحية، والميل إلى التعبير بالصورة، وحضور خياله المحلق، ومن خلفه عاطفته المتأججة، في خلق صوره الشعرية فيه وتشكليها. والإكثار من النظم في الأوزان القصيرة، والخروج على القالب الموسيقي الموروث باستخدام القالب المقطعي تارة، وشعر التفعيلة تارات.
This research endeavours to explore the romantic appoach of the poetry of Muhammad El - Eid Al - Khatrawi, to determine its objective and artistic dimensions, and to unveil these aspects of his poetry. It has appeared to the researcher - after careful study of the two sides of the research, that the poet was influenced by several characteristics of romanticism in both meaning and structure. On the domain of his subjects and meanings emerged the impacts of this approach in his singing the praises of love and passionate affection for woman; add to this intense fondness of her spiritually, passionately and even tormentedly. Furthermore, his survey of the altar of nature and his profound contemplation of and deep penetration into its beauty, enabled him to express through it most impressively his own self in its variant conditions. This romantic appoach was also reflected in his acute sensation of alienation, his feeling of loneliness and loss; together with his sadness and objection of the misery of the life that he lived, which eventually led him to resort to the past as a means of escaping from his harsh present. Thus, he welcomed death as long as life has sbstained form granting him the achievement of his aspirations or the fulfilment of his hopes and dreams As for the artistic structure, appoach appeared the effects of this trend in his adoption of easy, familiar and suggestive words, expressing his ideas mainly by means of poetic images The presence of his soaring imagination and behind it his blazing sentiment enabled him to create and shape his poetic images. He was a prolific poet, who generally wrote in short poetic metrical forms. But he frequently departed from using the hereditary musical form to using the poetic syllabic form at times, and free verse at other times.
